Laura Fisher Personal Trainer

Laura's personal training practice involves working with clients both in her home or in the clients home – whatever is most convenient.

Laura’s training philosophy does not blindly adhere to a particular method and is strongly centered on each individual’s needs and goals. According to Laura, “I try to form a special relationship with my clients, designing one-hour sessions to match their specific needs. It could involve yoga, meditation, weight training or a combination of all three. Honoring every “body” is of utmost importance to me.”

Laura was also quoted in the book, Live Longer, Live Better, by Dr. Sanjiv Chopra, and Dr. Alan Lotvin with David Fisher ( St.Martin’s Press 2010).

Most recently Laura has developed a program called OsteYo created specifically for individuals with osteopenia, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis as well as heart conditions. Classes are now offered at the Riverdale Community Center and have become quite popular. The class focuses on using walls, chairs, yoga blocks and straps as props to help clients feel all the benefit of the poses. Meditation and breathing techniques are also incorporated into the class to help individuals achieve equanimity and inner peace.

As the newest addition to the SkyClub family in Riverdale NY, Laura teaches Senior Fit on Monday mornings at 9:30am.
